More than 1.2 million tourists will visit St. Petersburg during the New Year holidays

St. Petersburg is planning to receive more than 1.2 million tourists during the New Year holidays. According to forecasts, the tourist flow during the upcoming holidays will grow by 2.5% compared to the same period a year earlier.

Such data was announced by the head of the city's tourism committee, Evgeny Pankevich, writes TASS. He noted that 1.2 million tourists visited the Northern Capital during the winter holidays last year. The same number or slightly more is expected this year. The authorities are guided by platform analytics, which shows high bookings, even more than in Moscow and other regions.

The highest load is observed in the days after the New Year, and it gradually decreases by Christmas. The average hotel occupancy is expected to be 60-62%, and on peak dates it exceeds 83%.

Earlier it was reported that the most expensive hotel order made by Russian tourists in 2025 through the OneTwoTrip service amounted to almost 7 million rubles. As follows from the company's data, this amount was spent by a company of six people, including one child, on a 24-day vacation with two meals a day at a five-star resort in the Maldives.
