Russians choose to watch the Pinocchio movie story for the New Year

The new film story "Pinocchio" has become the leader of polls devoted to the most anticipated films for the New Year. This was announced on December 23 by the professional magazine "Bulletin of the Film Distributor" with reference to the data of the weekly tracking "Moviegoer" of the Cinema Foundation and the Wanta Group.

The study is conducted among residents of cities with a population of one million. The index of interest in the film "Pinocchio" rose sharply from 28.7 to 57.5 points.

Vadim Smirnov, General Director of NMG Kinoprokat, in an interview with Izvestia, noted that the character of Pinocchio has been loved for 50 years, since January 1, 1976, and has managed to become part of the genetic code of Russians.

"We believe that our fairy tale claims to be one of the most beloved fairy tales of this New Year. And I think that this love will last for many years, and this picture, just like other films, will be shown on TV later before every New Year," he stressed.

Speaking about the upcoming secular premiere of the film, Smirnov noted that the organizers will try to immerse the audience in the atmosphere of a fairy tale from the very entrance to the cinema, long before the start of the session.

"We stand firmly in the position that at any premiere, no matter how it is decorated and no matter how many people come to it, the main thing is the picture that will be seen today..> at least 2.5 thousand viewers," Vadim Smirnov, General Director of NMG Film Distribution, told Izvestia on the eve of the secular premiere of the film.

The new film adaptation will feature the legendary melodies of People's Artist of Russia Alexei Rybnikov, who created the soundtrack to the original 1975 TV movie and is also working on the musical design of this picture.

Directed by Igor Voloshin, the cast includes Vitaliya Kornienko, Alexander Yatsenko, Fedor Bondarchuk, Victoria Isakova, Alexander Petrov, Anastasia Talyzina, Mark Edelstein and other famous actors.
