- Calculation device: fashionistas and athletes were offered a new gadget
Smart watches have long been a must-have accessory for modern people. With their help, you can pay for purchases, record your sports achievements, plan your work day and rest, and just keep track of what time it is. The new Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro, tested by Izvestia, can do all this and much more.
A watch with a piggy bank
There are several reasons to talk about the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro smartwatch at the end of the year. Firstly, the FlipUp application became available on the smartwatch, compatible with Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro, Watch GT 6, Watch GT 5, Watch 5 Pro, Watch Fit 4 and Watch 4 and several other models. The app for Android smartphones is already available in the AppGallery, and its appearance has been announced in RuStore for December. It allows you to link Mir bank cards to your watch and pay with them in the same way as it is currently done with Mir Pay on smartphones. The opportunity to pay for purchases in stores, food in restaurants, dry cleaning and hairdressing services from your wrist, just like in the good old days, is attractive.

Secondly, the New Year is ahead, on February 23 and March 8, that is, the season of gifts. Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro (from 29,999 to 39,999 rubles) and GT 6 (from 22,999 to 24,999 rubles) are quite worthy gifts for children, family, friends and yourself. For your loved one, go for the 46mm GT 6 in a titanium alloy case with a stylish raised bezel and a stylish braided strap. It looks solid — with such a gadget, even to the world, even to a feast, even to a workout: it is extremely difficult to scratch the sapphire crystal.
As a gift on March 8, 46-millimeter GT 6 will be suitable, for example, in light green or 41-millimeter soft purple designs. On a thin wrist, they look elegant and weightless (no wonder the slogan of this watch series is "Wind Energy" — it is associated with air, freedom, movement).
There are eight devices in the GT 6 range in different colors and sizes. I want to put some interesting dial on a good watch. No, there's no problem with that — the catalog is full of them. But, alas, Huawei watch faces, with the exception of the very basic ones, are paid, you will have to pay for downloading them.
Athletic behavior
For many, New Year's holidays are associated with trips to warmer climes, or, conversely, to a real frosty and snowy winter. If active holidays are supposed to be on vacation, then Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro will organically complement it.
In warmer climes, for example, you can ride a bike on New Year's Eve. And Huawei's new watch is designed to monitor cycling sessions. The manufacturer positions them as the first gadget of its kind that calculates their virtual power. This is the first watch on the market that measures this parameter and does not require a special separate measuring device. The algorithms for these measurements were allegedly developed by a simulator simulating a ride on a real bike in a wind tunnel at Beijing Sports University.

The watch aggregates data from a variety of external gadgets: heart rate monitor, cadence meter (i.e. pedal speed), heart rate monitor, speedometer. The GT 6 Pro evaluates the effectiveness of cycling by taking into account the weight of the cyclist, the height of his route above sea level, the slope level, and even the bike model. There is a mountain sickness warning feature for those cycling through the highlands. The participants of the group races can see on the map in a special application where the members of their team are located.
In fact, a smartphone connected to a new watch and software can work like a bicycle computer: until recently, gadgets of this type had to be bought separately, and cheap models did not differ in particular measurement accuracy.
These and other functions are certainly relevant primarily for professional cyclists or those for whom riding is a constant important tool to keep fit. But for those who just ride a bike through the streets of the southern town or through the park, another function may be relevant — detecting a fall and sending a notification about it. That is, if you fall off your bike and you can't ask for help yourself, the watch will understand this and will call the emergency service itself or at the number programmed for such a case.
The function of importing travel routes into watches is also interesting (you can store up to 20 of them in the gadget's memory). That is, after learning about a popular travel route, you can load it into the GT 6, take the bike to the start and ride it along an unfamiliar route, following the navigation prompts of the watch.
If cycling, from your point of view, is still a spring-summer entertainment, then running is practically all-season. Runners in the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro are offered, in particular, the display of jogging routes.

You can import up to 50 such tracks into the watch, which are displayed on the map display — on previous models there were only 10 of them. The smartwatch can determine the distance to the desired route point, record the overcoming of slopes, and show you a diagram of elevation changes on it.
The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro also has options for those who love snow and downhill skiing. So, the watch will calculate the maximum number of descents made, the speed, the distance traveled and much more.
By the way, Huawei Sunflower's updated geolocation system is a source of pride for the manufacturer: according to him, it works 20% more accurately on the GT 6 Pro than on the previous generation of watches.
However, there are no perfect gadgets. The watch, positioned as a device for sports and outdoor activities, simply asks for an eSIM: cycling or skiing with a smartphone in your pocket is not very convenient. But there is no eSIM in the GT 6 Pro, although there is a watch with a virtual SIM card in the Huawei lineup.
Training results and personal records are the pride of an athlete. And then on the bike trail, where you're about to break your own speed record, the battery in the watch suddenly runs out: it's a shame, isn't it? But Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro, which can hardly survive a working day in the office without charging. The author of this review used them for a little less than a week, and the watch needed only one charge. As Huawei promises, in standard use (for example, in the "home-work-home" mode) its capacity is enough for two weeks, with active outdoor training — for 25 hours.

As the experience of long—term use of one of the "fresh" previous models, Huawei Watch GT 4, has shown, you can live for about a week without recharging in a quiet working day mode (taking into account the sleep condition in the watch - the Huawei Health program, by the way, tracks its parameters very well). It's quite possible to believe in two weeks without charging — on a hike or on a camping trip, such "longevity" is not superfluous. It is provided, in particular, by a special form of battery, and a capacity increased by 65% compared to previous models, according to the description of the device.
A sea of emotions
Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro takes care not only of physical, but also of mental health. The trick of this model is a multidimensional analysis of emotions. "Huawei Watch GT 6 detects your emotions even before you realize your condition yourself," Huawei's promotional materials say. It turned out, for example, that the author of this test drive was experiencing a 56-point test on a 100-point scale at the time of its implementation. The watch rated it as average. According to GT 6 Pro, it helps to concentrate and get more benefits when performing various tasks. The clock identified the emotions of the tester as neutral.
They can be measured by the improved TruSense monitoring system, which recognizes 12 types of emotional state and, allegedly, can detect stress in 10 minutes. To remove it, the watch will recommend that you practice breathing exercises under the guidance of a cute animated panda bear.
Traveling through Huawei Health is generally a very exciting activity — you can learn quite a lot about yourself and your health. Opening the app, the author of the test drive was surprised to find that while he was rummaging through the settings, the watch managed to measure his pulse and blood pressure, and found out that it was elevated. The saturation, which was also measured by the watch, turned out to be normal. Sleep data appeared in the morning. It turned out that the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro tester sleeps little (less than seven hours a day), and he often wakes up, although he does not notice it himself.

Curiously, Huawei Health is able to give basic recommendations on health monitoring and keeping fit. For example, after learning that the tester had high blood pressure, she, like an ordinary doctor in a polyclinic, conducted a detailed survey of the patient and issued a whole set of recommendations, at the same time offering to make a schedule for taking medications.
However, many modes are not activated by default — many of them must be specifically activated manually. And since there are many modes, frequent tapping of the icons on the smartphone to activate functions and confirm various kinds of consents, at some point it simply begins to annoy.
But in the end, these and other options that a Huawei smartwatch buyer will encounter may make someone who has never followed him think about his health. At the same time, they will give you a reason to imagine a futuristic future — when smart gadgets will not only monitor basic health parameters, but also, perhaps, prescribe prescriptions to their owners.
