The GAZ plant has been equipped with new robots

In 2025, eight new robotic complexes involving 55 robots began operating at the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ). The total number of industrial robots involved in car production has increased to 630, and the level of automation in the upgraded areas has exceeded 85%. This is stated in the message of the car company, which was received by Izvestia on December 23.

New robotic complexes have been installed at several production sites of the enterprise. In particular, an automatic welding line has been put into operation at the welding site of the spars of the Gazelle Next and Gazelle NN all-metal vans. The new line, which includes seven welding robots, has increased the site's productivity from 9 to 12 sets of spars per hour.

Six additional welding robots have appeared at the sidewall welding site of the Sobol NN car body. The productivity of this section has more than doubled, while the number of employees responsible for the operation of the line has not changed. The welding section of the sidewalls for single-row and double-row cabins of Gazelle Next, Gazelle NN and Gazon Next cars has also become automated, productivity has increased from 12 to 20 sidewalls per hour. Five more new complexes with 20 robots appeared this year in automotive component industries.

Earlier, on December 2, it was reported that Gorky Automobile Plant had completed the transfer of the entire line of gasoline and bi-fuel (gasoline) modifications of Gazelle Business, Sobol Business and Gazelle Next cars to an enhanced 5-speed gearbox. The new transmission is designed for an input torque of up to 330 Nm, it replaced the previous 5-speed gearbox 250 (up to 250 Nm).
