The fifth-generation Su-57 fighter took to the air for the first time with a promising engine "product 177". This was announced on December 22 by Rostec State Corporation.

"In the latest engine, afterburner thrust is 16,000 kgf. The new engine also has reduced fuel consumption in all modes and increased resource performance," Rostec's Telegram channel noted.

The state corporation added that the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) is implementing a program to expand production capacity. This will increase the volume of supplies of the Su-57 to the troops, as well as offer an export modification of the fighter to foreign customers.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev said on November 19 that there are no problems in aircraft maintenance in Russia, as the country provides itself with components for aviation. He noted that it is absolutely safe to fly with Russian airlines, because they are fully certified, as well as aircraft components.

Also in August, the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, announced that the company would begin mass production of Russian MC-21, SJ-100 and Il-114 aircraft for civilian use in 2026. In addition, certification flights will be completed by the end of 2026, after which mass production of domestic aircraft will begin.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
