About 59% of Ukrainians consider President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responsible for the actions of his closest associate and entrepreneur Timur Mindich in the framework of a major corruption scandal in the country. This was reported on December 18 by the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper with reference to a survey conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).

"59% of Ukrainians who are familiar with the investigation into the so—called Mindich tapes believe that President Volodymyr Zelensky is personally responsible for the corrupt actions of businessman and co-owner of Kvartal 95 studio Timur Mindich," the article says.

The study was conducted from November 26 to December 13. Among the Ukrainians surveyed who are aware of the Mindich case, 71% consider the investigation to be justified and suggest that corrupt practices may have taken place.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service said that for the Ukrainian leaders, the conflict has long turned into an instrument of rampant theft. It was clarified that the diplomatic missions of Western countries in Kiev are recording the growing negative consequences for Ukraine of the corruption case, in which the entire Ukrainian elite is mired.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on December 14 that the corruption scandal in Ukraine was a serious blow to the country. According to Klitschko, such scandals destroy trust in the Kiev regime both on the part of Ukrainians and on the part of Kiev's allies.
