The opening of the Russian Film Festival took place in Paris
The Russian Film Festival opened on December 18 at the Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Center in Paris, the event was organized by Roskino with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The program features various films from military drama to romantic comedy, as well as a blockbuster movie about the poet Alexander Pushkin. Izvestia correspondent Anastasia Rikeza noted the increased interest in Russian culture.
Actress Olga Lomonosova noted that despite the geopolitical situation, she did not feel hostility, but on the contrary met with people's smiles.
Russian Russian historian Christian Savail-Grandjean said: "I am a Russophile, although I do not speak Russian, but I am a big fan of the Russian Film Festival. <...> This festival promotes understanding of Russian culture."
Russian Ambassador to France Alexey Meshkov, who also attended the festival, said that recently it was not the only major event held at French venues.
"I'm sure all these films are <... They will be in demand by the audience," he said.
On November 2, Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, during a welcoming speech to the participants of the film forum within the framework of the Peoples of Russia and the CIS festival, stated that joint film projects and the establishment of the Eurasian Film Academy play a key role in bringing the peoples of Russia and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) closer together. The festival program included screenings of joint films, including the Russian-Uzbek film "The Sun Tastes Good" and the Russian-Tajik film "Path of Anger".
