Rostan Tavasiev's first large-scale retrospective, Zailaris, covers more than 20 years of the artist's work, including his iconic works of artificial fur and soft toys (the behemoth Paintings cycle), as well as space-inspired projects. The exposition is arranged not chronologically, but as a single dramatic journey, the heroes of which are stuffed animals — guides of the viewer. Through their cosmic odyssey and transformations, the artist speaks allegorically about the eternal questions of human existence.

An exhibition of landscapes by Mikhail Matyushin, one of the leaders of the Russian avant—garde, takes place in the house where he lived: now it is the Museum of the St. Petersburg Avant—garde, a branch of the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg. For the first time, viewers can see the full evolution of the artist's work: from early works influenced by Impressionism, through experiments on the verge of pointlessness to a late turn to realism. Interestingly, two months after the opening of the exhibition, all graphics (drawings and watercolors) are completely replaced by other works from the same period: starting this week, the composition of the exhibition will be different than before.
