In 2026, pensioners will be able to increase the amount of payments due to additional payments for disabled dependents and other allowances provided for by pension legislation. This was stated by Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

According to the parliamentarian, an increase in the fixed payment to the old-age and disability insurance pension is provided for pensioners who depend on disabled family members.

"We are talking about children under the age of 18 who study full-time until the age of 23, as well as spouses, parents, grandparents when they reach a certain age or have a disability. Most often, such an additional payment is assigned specifically for children," explained Nilov.

The expert clarified that the amount of the supplement is one third of the fixed pension payment for each dependent, but not more than three people.

"Starting from January 1, 2026, the fixed payment is set at 9584.69 rubles. Accordingly, the surcharge will amount to about 3,195 rubles for one dependent, about 6,390 rubles for two and up to 9585 rubles for three. For residents of the Far North and equivalent territories, these amounts increase taking into account the district coefficient," the deputy noted.

Nilov stressed that the right to an additional payment does not depend on whether a pensioner works or not, and an application can be submitted at any time after the right arises.

"As a rule, they can refuse only if the established limit on the number of dependents is exceeded or if there is no official confirmation of the disability of a family member," he added.

In addition, the parliamentarian recalled other allowances that have been in effect since 2026, including an increase in fixed payments for citizens over 80 years of age and people with disabilities of the first group, as well as regional and federal social supplements that bring a pensioner's income to a subsistence level.
