On the eve of the New Year holidays, Russians are increasingly forming their plans, choosing a recreation format that will allow them to regain their strength. According to a study by the financial marketplace "Compare", which was reviewed by Izvestia on December 30, 84% of Russians prefer a family vacation format.

Only 3% of participants plan to celebrate the New Year with friends, while 6% plan to celebrate alone. Another 6% have not decided on their plans. The trend continues in choosing a vacation destination.: 79% of citizens are planning to spend their holidays at home, 10% are considering a trip to Russia, and 6% are planning a trip to the country. Only 2% intend to celebrate the New Year abroad.

Leisure preferences also indicate a focus on relaxing holidays. The home format — movies, TV series, reading — was chosen by 80% of respondents. 34% plan meetings with their loved ones. Active options, such as winter sports or a cultural program, attract only 5% of the respondents.

The experts of "Compare" noted that the desire for comfort and family time is becoming a key motive for planning New Year's holidays, while interest in travel and active recreation remains minimal.

On December 17, social psychologist Maria Kamitsyna named effective ways to create a New Year's mood "from scratch" to Izvestia. According to her, it is necessary to turn on New Year's music, make a themed playlist, decorate the house in advance with garlands and toys, use New Year's dishes, create a cozy evening with a blanket and a hot drink. A little household activity also contributes to the appearance of a New Year's feeling.
