Experts appreciated the use of AI by investors in decision-making
Artificial intelligence is used by 15% of retail investors to make investment decisions. This is evidenced by the results of a study conducted by VTB My Investments and the analytical and consulting company Frank RG on the eve of the VTB Investment Forum "RUSSIA IS CALLING!".
According to the survey, a total of 78% of investors view AI advice positively. At the same time, 11% are well aware of the possibilities of artificial intelligence in the investment market.
More than a third of respondents (36%) indicated that they are ready to use AI's help to select suitable financial instruments, as well as to monitor buy or sell signals (34%). At the same time, investors are aware of the risks of using artificial intelligence: the main concerns are related to the possibility of technical failures (50%), loss of assets (43%) and data leakage (36%).
"Our experience suggests that the confidence of investors is significantly influenced by a huge flow of information. Obviously, the development of the institute of investment advisers will help to increase confidence in investments — and here VTB My Investments is betting on expanding their presence in the regions," said Andrey Yatskov, head of VTB's brokerage services department.
He also stressed that investors need ready-made strategies that focus on a comfortable level of risk, and intuitive services. An increase in the opportunities for private investors to switch to the category of "qualifiers" also has a positive impact. "According to our estimates, the coincidence of these factors over the horizon of five years can increase the share of the stock market in the volume of investments from 5-7% to 12%," Yatsko added.
The study involved 1,000 investors from cities with populations of at least 100,000 people with at least 10,000 rubles in a brokerage account or IC.
