The Red Wings Boeing 777 aircraft, flying from Moscow to Phuket, made an emergency landing at Domodedovo Airport in the capital. The reason for this was a change in the operating parameters of one of the engines and the subsequent fire. Read more about the incident in the Izvestia article.

The circumstances of the incident

According to the Izvestia source, the aircraft's left engine caught fire, which is why the "blue" aviation hazard code was declared. According to Artem Korenyako, a representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency, the ship made an emergency landing at Domodedovo Airport. There were 412 passengers and 13 crew members on board, a total of 425 people.

The aviation services stated that the ship's crew responded to the situation in a timely and competent manner in accordance with the aircraft Flight Operations Manual (REM).

Effects

The Federal Air Transport Agency reported that no one was injured as a result of the incident. Domodedovo Airport added that the incident did not affect the operation of the airline. All passengers of the ship were moved to a sterile area of the airport and given their luggage. Some of them went home, the rest agreed to stay at the hotel. In addition, the airline had to adjust the departure schedule of several planes.

As Korenyako noted, the Central Interregional Territorial Administration of the Federal Air Transport Agency will investigate the incident. In addition, the prosecutor's office added that an investigation had begun into the incident.

The airline's press service also reported that the flight is now scheduled for 01:40 Moscow time on December 5. They clarified that it will be performed on a backup aircraft.
