The restaurateur spoke about the peculiarities of wine tourism
Wine tourism is focused on creating emotions and impressions for people. Dmitry Levitsky, a restaurateur, founder of the HURMA Group of Companies, and project manager of the Bely Cape wine city in Gelendzhik, told about this on November 14 at the BRICS Wine Summit.
He noted that wine tourism and ordinary gastrotourism are completely different directions. So, in order to taste wine, a person does not have to come to the place where the drink was made.
"I am more than sure that most tourists come to <...> wineries, not because they want to taste wine. <...> Wine tourism is still entertainment tourism. We have to give the tourist an emotion, we have to sell some kind of reason. That is, we are essentially selling him an event, a visit to this winery," the restaurateur said.
According to Levitsky, the peculiarities of wine tourism require winemakers to be able to make a show of tasting, greet guests correctly, and take photos.
"We need to be able to create this experience," the head of the wine city emphasized.
Zhanna Belovol, Head of the Board of the Association of Winegrowers and Winemakers (ABVR), announced on November 13 that the federal law on the development of viticulture and winemaking, which entered into force in 2020, has become a breakthrough for the Russian wine industry. She added that over the past five years, Kuban has allocated 15 billion rubles for the development of the wine industry. Due to this, the area of land used for growing grapes increased to 3 thousand hectares, and the opportunity to get more than 3.5 thousand people to work increased.
