On Monday, November 17, Russian schools and colleges will host another lesson from the series "Conversations about important things", which will be held on the eve of the Psychologist's Day. The lesson will be dedicated to the profession of a psychologist and one of the most relevant topics in any person's life — the ability to resolve conflicts and cope with life difficulties. Izvestia tells us how the lesson will go in different classes.

"Talking about important things" on November 17th — the topic of the lesson

The topic of the new lesson is "How to resolve conflicts and cope with difficulties? For the Day of the psychologist." One of his tasks is to introduce students to the profession of a psychologist, whose professional holiday is celebrated annually in Russia on November 22.

The main focus of the conversation will be on the causes of conflicts, possible ways to overcome them, as well as the need to be able to build harmonious relationships with others based on respect and mutual understanding. They will also talk about modern opportunities for obtaining professional psychological assistance in difficult life situations.

The announcement of the theme will be presented by the young actor Stanislav Solomatin, known for his roles in films and TV series. People's Artist of Russia Konstantin Khabensky will also join the lesson. In a video interview format, he will share with the students his view on overcoming difficulties and the importance of dialogue in resolving disputes.

Watching and discussing thematic videos, interactive classes and presentations will help students consolidate the topic.

The recommended duration of the lesson is 30 minutes. Methodological materials and recommendations can be found on the project's website.

"Conversations about important things" November 17 — lesson program

In all classes, the lesson will be structured according to the age characteristics of the students. For younger students in grades 1-2, the conversation will begin with a discussion of how mood affects communication. The children will watch and discuss a fragment of the cartoon "Quarrel" in order to understand the causes of conflicts and ways of reconciliation. They will be offered an interactive task "Let's not quarrel" and a video "Manage your emotions", which will teach them how to regulate their emotional state in a playful way.

Students in grades 3-4 will delve into the study of emotions and their influence on behavior. They will get acquainted with the basics of psychology as a science that helps to find compromises in conflict situations. During the conversation, students will answer questions about how conflicts hinder the achievement of goals, and who they can turn to for help if they cannot cope with the problem on their own.

In grades 5-7, the focus will shift to the practical aspects of dispute resolution. Teenagers will analyze conflict prevention scenarios and the value of compromise in detail. In the continuation of the lesson, they will complete the practical task "Finding a way out of the conflict", where they will need to analyze a fictional situation from the lives of their peers and propose solutions to it.

Students in grades 8-9 will analyze the constructive and destructive sides of conflicts. They will complete the "Different sides of conflicts" task by filling out the appropriate table, and will also develop their own rules of behavior in controversial situations, which they will then compare with the recommendations of professional psychologists.

The most difficult and profound topics await students in grades 10-11 and college students. They will learn to differentiate between types of conflicts, including intrapersonal and interpersonal, and analyze them using examples from classical literature. The practical part will include working out strategies for overcoming the conflict and mastering the "Seven Steps of Cooperation" methodology.

In addition, they will discuss the importance of the profession of a psychologist and the universal benefits of psychological knowledge in everyday life and professional activities.

Thus, as a result of the lesson, students of schools and colleges will gain basic skills in conflict analysis, emotion management and constructive behavior based on dialogue and compromise, which will contribute to the formation of a more positive and psychologically safe environment in educational groups and everyday life.
