Explosion on the playground: what is known
On the evening of November 11, an explosion occurred in Krasnogorsk, Moscow region, which injured a child returning home after training at a sports school.
A nine-year-old boy noticed a rolled-up ten-ruble bill lying on the ground near the playground. When the boy picked it up, an improvised explosive device hidden inside went off.
As a result of the explosion, the child's hand and the phalanges of his fingers were severely damaged. The device was presumably filled with small nails, which enhanced the damaging effect.
Eyewitnesses said that immediately after the incident, passers-by ran up to the boy, provided first aid and called an ambulance. One of the witnesses noted that there was a lot of blood on the spot.
"I came out of training and there was a child lying on the ground, a crowd of people and an ambulance around. I walked over... I heard people around me saying that a child was walking and saw money lying on the ground and decided to pick it up. There was an explosion," eyewitness Vladimir Sharupich told Izvestia.
The injured child was hospitalized at the L.M.Roshal Children's Center and underwent surgery, the regional Ministry of Health reported. Doctors partially amputated the child's fingers, the child is in serious condition, said Ksenia Mishonova, children's Ombudsman in the Moscow region.

What the eyewitnesses say
The explosive device that injured the boy in Krasnogorsk was a bundle of ten-ruble bills tied with a red gift ribbon. An eyewitness to the incident told Izvestia about this on November 12.
"My wife and I heard an explosion. I looked out from the balcony and saw a boy running towards the playground. Then I went down," the witness said.
According to him, several people were already nearby, including the assistant coach of the sports section, who called the victim's name.
Before the arrival of the emergency services, the witnesses surrounded the scene with a stretch film so that outsiders would not enter there.
In local parent chat rooms, residents urge children to be warned about the need to be extremely careful and not touch unfamiliar objects found on the street.
