Adherents of extremist ideologies who have arrived in Sweden are increasingly being tried to be "disposed of" in Ukraine. The Swedish press reports on cases when detained "guests" are offered to sign a contract with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Some of them agree, others refuse, preferring a trip to Kiev to deportation to their homeland. Details can be found in the Izvestia article.

You won't be able to bribe

The current Swedish government found itself at the controls three years ago on the wave of promises to solve the problem of uncontrolled migration. This problem is very acute: thanks to the efforts of previous left-liberal governments that flooded the country with third-world aliens, Sweden, which was one of the most peaceful and secure EU states 20 years ago, has become a real battlefield. Ethnic gang members stage shootouts and explosions on Swedish streets every day, putting native Swedes in a state of frustration and depression.

Citizens accuse officials of not taking strict enough measures to limit migration. And although in recent years the authorities have tightened a number of rules governing the entry and stay of migrants coming from outside the European Union, this has not yet led to a significant improvement in the situation. The government is trying to experiment — for example, it has decided to radically increase the allowance due for voluntary consent to leave the country. In total, a budget of 1.5 billion crowns (about €136 million) was allocated for this. But experts predicted that few people would take advantage of the offer.

The other day, the Expressen publication published material from which it follows that you should not expect much from a voluntary self-deportation program for money. The journalists spoke with Hassan, a 48-year-old native of Somalia, who now lives with his wife and their six children in Rinkeby, an immigrant ghetto in Stockholm. Hassan, he said, would be happy to go back to his homeland, but only if he was adequately paid. He rejects the amount offered to him and is ready to leave only for one million crowns (over €90 thousand). But the maximum amount of money that he and his family can count on, even at the increased rate since the beginning of 2026, is up to 600 thousand crowns. If a person leaves alone, they will be able to receive up to 350 thousand crowns (currently only 40 thousand crowns).

The journalists also talked to others, in particular, with one unemployed family living in the immigrant district of Yarva. They were sitting at a local cafe at that moment. When they learned from the Expressen staff that the Swedish government intends to reduce benefits for unemployed migrants (in particular, this family will receive 8 thousand crowns), they were upset: "Oh, oh, oh, this is not good." Money is something that is constantly talked about here: who has it, who doesn't, who should be given it, and how much.

Some have already begun to figure out how to run the state. "You take the money, you say you're moving, and then you work illegally. The Swedes can be fooled," says one. "I might want to move, but what about the kids? They already have their own life here. They're Somalis in body, but Swedes in mind," laments another. "I earn 400,000 crowns a year here. Why would I move to Somalia for 350,000 crowns?" asks a third. However, the very size of the sums allocated by the authorities hints that mass repatriation should not be expected. Even if all this money is spent, 4 thousand migrants will leave, no more.

Islamists — to Ukraine

Recently, the press reported that the Swedish government had paid 100 million kronor (over €9 million) to the Somali authorities in exchange for receiving 28 forcibly deported Somalis. Sources familiar with the situation claim that the entourage of the Prime Minister of the African country, Hamza Abdi Barre, demanded money for this service. The first payment of 40 million crowns was made in 2024. The remaining 60 million was paid last summer. Currently, Somalia occupies the penultimate place in the global corruption index: in connection with which, Swedish expert Vilo Abdulle Osman, on national radio, expressed suspicion that Barre's entourage simply stuffed the money into their pockets.

In any case, the efficiency from such efforts and costs is completely negligible, and meanwhile the situation in Sweden continues to escalate. Last spring, an expert report commissioned by the French government on the activities of the extremist group Muslim Brotherhood in the EU (banned in Russia) was published. The authors of this report drew attention to the rise of Islamist extremists in Sweden, where, allegedly, these radicals feel at home. In Sweden itself, this report did not go unnoticed. The local Minister of Labor Mats Persson threatened: "We will block foreign financing of religious communities, especially where foreign states finance radical mosques. Step by step, we will move forward to fight back against these Islamists."

As a result, the authorities began to use much more extreme methods towards migrants than before. The other day, an investigation by journalists from the Swedish TV company SVT aired. They claim that some of the migrants were subjected to pressure from the Swedish Security Police (Säpo), who forced them to go to fight in Ukraine. In particular, the journalists talked about this topic with Lom-Ali Artsuyev, a native of Chechnya, who had previously been included in the register of persons posing a threat to state security compiled by Säpo. Swedish intelligence officials have concluded that Artsuyev may be involved in terrorist activities.

Currently, Artsuev is required to report to the Stockholm police station seven times a week, and he is only allowed to stay in certain areas. At the same time, the Swedish authorities are not going to deport him to Russia, where he will face criminal prosecution for previously committed crimes. After all, at one time Artsuev served in the "presidential guard" of Aslan Maskhadov. As a "freedom fighter," he was granted political asylum in Sweden, where he lived for over ten years. At the same time, Artsuev claims that he has been repeatedly urged by the Säpo to join a battalion of mercenaries and go to fight in Ukraine.

Viktor Gaziev, another radical Islamist who settled in Sweden, has been in Ukraine since June 2023. SVT journalists managed to contact him, and he said that six years ago he was also recognized as a "threat to the security of Sweden." The Swedish authorities initially planned to deport Gaziev, but then the Säpo invited him to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In return, he was promised to help his ex-wife obtain a Swedish passport. As a result, Gaziev has been fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for more than two years as an operator of a combat drone, and his ex-wife was denied Swedish citizenship anyway.

"Overwhelming cynicism"

Thomas Fried, a lawyer representing Lom-Ali Artsuev, claims that several other clients of Chechen origin have received similar offers. "People are called one at a time and told that they have no prospects here in Sweden. But if they do this and that, then they and their families will succeed. I know that for sure," says Fried. SVT representatives also spoke with a former Stockholm resident who was formerly a militant of an Islamist group in Syria. After he engaged in criminal activity in Sweden and was detained by the police, he was offered to travel to Ukraine while in custody. He refused and preferred deportation to Syria.

Sweden receives news from time to time about the deaths of mercenaries from this country who joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, it is possible that the Säpo still forced some of the Islamists who settled in Sweden to leave for Ukraine. There is reason to suspect that the cases of Artsuyev, Gaziev and the unnamed Syrian, which SVT has made public, are just the tip of the iceberg. However, it is very difficult to obtain complete information on this topic. The security police themselves, for obvious reasons, deny everything, and many of the "involuntary mercenaries" they sent to Ukraine may already be dead.

Last spring, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs openly recognized the right of the Ukrainian Embassy in Stockholm to recruit Swedes to participate in hostilities. Foreign Ministry spokesman Tumas Vanesk stressed: "The participation of Swedish citizens in the defense of Ukraine is not illegal." And in July, Swedish mercenary Christopher Forshback told SvD: "Now more Swedes are dying in Ukraine than before. Most of them are beginners and inexperienced." Forshback said that he had seen many compatriots who went to Ukraine immediately after serving in the Swedish army, but at the same time turned out to be completely unprepared for real combat operations. SvD has repeatedly contacted the Swedish Foreign Ministry with a question about how many Swedes died in Ukraine, but has not received an answer.

Natalia Eremina, Doctor of Political Sciences, professor at St. Petersburg State University, in an interview with Izvestia, noted that there is a clear desire by the Swedish authorities to kill two birds with one stone — to get rid of the most dangerous individuals and to help the Kiev regime. "At one time, the Swedes opened their doors wide to migrants of all stripes, without even bothering to check their background. As a result, they have been persecuting Islamists, terrorists, and bandits of all stripes, and now they don't know how to get rid of them. Among these "dear guests" were, in particular, persons who are wanted in Russia. And then suddenly — what a surprise! — it turns out that these are not "freedom fighters" at all, but real terrorists, as the Russian law enforcement agencies warned. And now, in fact, it turns out that Sweden does not extradite these terrorists to the Russian Federation, but hires them to fight the Russian army! Since these people are not suitable for creative work and pose a danger to the Swedes, they are trying to dispose of them in Ukraine so that they cause damage not to Sweden, but to Russia. Overwhelming cynicism," says Eremina. At the same time, she expresses doubt that Sweden will be able to effectively solve the problem of the ethnic gangs that occupied the country.
