The expert named the most popular foreign destinations in 2025

Turkey, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, and China remain the most sought-after foreign destinations for Russian tourists. Vladimir Kaganer, director of the National Union of Travel Industry Professionals, told about this at a press conference on September 25 on the topic "Summer results: where will Russians go in the velvet season?" at the Izvestia News Center.

He specified that the summer season will last until mid-November, and summing up the results of summer tourism is expected in December.

On September 16, Megafon analysts reported that 9% more Russians traveled abroad this summer than last year. The interest in Africa and Asia grew the most, by 38% and 37%. Turkey is still the main destination — the country is leading both as a vacation destination and as a convenient transfer point. It is followed by Belarus, Kazakhstan, Abkhazia and Georgia.
