The Netherlands announced plans to abandon the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the participation of Israel.

The Netherlands will refuse to participate in the Eurovision 2026 music contest if an Israeli representative participates in it. This was reported on September 12 by The Times of Israel newspaper with reference to a statement by the Dutch television company AvroTros.

"The Netherlands has joined Ireland in declaring that it will not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 if Israel participates in it," the article says.

The Dutch company emphasizes that it took into account the large number of journalists killed in Gaza when deciding on the possibility of boycotting the 2026 contest.
