The best day: what to do at the Baltika Fest food festival
Russian food festivals are not just about how to eat and drink deliciously. This is an opportunity to visit different parts of the country thanks to the taste of the author's dishes, understand the culture and traditions of the inhabitants of many regions and, of course, have fun. For example, the Baltika Fest food festival will be held on September 13 in the Leningrad region. We tell you what is worth visiting at the event so that the day is definitely a success.
What to do at the Baltika Fest
Preparations for the festival began long before it. Baltika Fest is the first event to be held at the Igora Drive racetrack without the use of auto or motorsport equipment, so the organizers began preparing for the festival in the summer.
"We are only waiting for a charge of positive emotions from the audience. For us, as organizers, the most important thing is always for the audience to enjoy themselves. Please bring your good emotions. We will help you strengthen and multiply these good emotions," Alexey Titov, General Director of the autodrom, told Izvestia.
Master classes and gastro shows will help to increase emotions.
In addition, you can enjoy food and drinks from different parts of Russia at the festival. Baltika Fest will feature cuisines from the Northwest, the Caucasus, Central Russia, the Volga region, the Black Sea region, and the Baltic coast. For example, among the northwestern dishes, the chefs will present Karelian crayfish, northern shrimps, and White Sea mussels. Caucasian cuisine will be remembered for tortillas with stewed beef, roast beef with adjika and stewed beef brisket with cabbage salad. Central Russia will be represented by pork ribs, pork knuckle, beef and chicken sausages, turkey, the Volga region — shish kebab and pilaf cooked over an open fire, the Black Sea region — cheese balls, potato slices, breaded chicken strips. Also at Baltika Fest, guests will taste the Baltic Coast cuisine: sprats, mackerel, fried fish, which are familiar and complement the taste of beer.
The list of activities at the festival should include attending a concert. Among the headliners are the legend of Russian rock "Chaif", the cult band of the 1990s and 2000s "Disco Accident" and singer Marie Crymbreri.
As Vladimir Shakhrin, the leader of the Chaif group, jokingly noted, he will play his famous songs "to become a pleasant addition to the event and create the right atmosphere." The soloists of the group "Disco Accident" Alexey Serov and Alexey Ryzhov told Izvestia that they expect first of all a good mood from the audience.
