More than half of travelers (58%) would like to spend this fall abroad. OneTwoTrip, a travel planning service, looked at which Russian and foreign cities its customers are most often looking for hotels for the period from September to November, and compiled the top most popular destinations. Izvestia got acquainted with the result of the study on August 15.

It turned out that Russians most often choose hotels in Turkey (16.4% of search queries) and Thailand (9.5%). Japan (5.8%), Italy (5.4%), the United Arab Emirates (5.3%), China (5.1%), Abkhazia (3.9%), Vietnam (3.5%), France (3.2%) and Belarus (3.1%) are also among the 10 desirable countries for autumn holidays.

"As for specific cities, Istanbul topped the list abroad: 4.3% of travelers who are looking for a hotel for the period from September to November in other countries choose options in the Turkish metropolis," the analysts said.

Dubai is slightly less popular (3.6% share), and Antalya took the third place (3.0%). Other popular destinations include Tokyo (2.8%), Minsk (2.4%), Pattaya (2.3%), Seoul (2.2%), Phuket (2.1%), Paris (2.0%) and Rome (1.7%).

St. Petersburg opens the top Russian cities where travelers would like to relax this fall: the Northern capital accounts for 12.1% of search queries. Tourists are almost as often looking for housing in Sochi (11.0%), but Moscow took only the third place in the rating with an indicator of 8.6%.

"In addition, Russians are interested in hotels in Adler (5.0%), Kaliningrad (4.8%), Gelendzhik (3.2%), Kazan (3.0%), Vladivostok (2.0%), Nizhny Novgorod (1.7%) and Kislovodsk (1.6%)," the study noted.

On July 30, it was reported that the cost of travel to friendly countries may decrease in Russia. The reason for the favorable forecast is the new law on benefits for tour operators, which will enter into force on September 1.
