Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), called the provision of water to the region the most difficult issue. He stated this on August 4 at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.

"The most difficult issue and a serious challenge for us is, of course, the issue of water supply. The issue became more acute for us after the enemy launched a water blockade," the head of the republic noted.
