Israel is considering the possibility of resuming military operations against Iran if Tel Aviv sees a risk of developing Tehran's nuclear program for military purposes. This was stated on July 18 by the Israeli Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Simona Halperin, at a briefing.

"If we see Iran's attempts to return to this program and that they resume it, we will consider this possibility (of resuming military operations. — Ed.) we will consider," TASS quoted her as saying.

She noted that at the moment "this opportunity is a little far away." Halperin added that as a result of the Israeli strikes, Iran's nuclear program was set back at least two to three years ago.

The ambassador also stressed that Israel does not object to Russia supplying Iran with nuclear materials for the operation of nuclear power plants and exporting spent fuel.

On July 15, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali told Izvestia that the Islamic Republic is ready to respond in case of new aggression from Israel. He noted that a repeat of the situation would put Tehran in a situation in which it "would not show patience for aggression."
