The opening of the airport in Gelendzhik caused a stir among tourists. Tickets for the first and next flights were sold out after the start of sales. Tour operators note that the demand for bookings in Gelendzhik has increased by 30% in the last week alone.

The route was launched on July 18, and the first flight will be operated by an Aeroflot aircraft from Moscow, which will fly daily.

"Starting today, Aeroflot introduces regular flights from Moscow to Gelendzhik. The first flight with a full load. From the very beginning of sales, there was a very high level of demand, so we found an opportunity to add a second daily flight from August 1, and a third daily flight from August 8," said Dmitry Kravchenko, Director of the Network and Revenue Management Department at Aeroflot.

This resort is developing rapidly. Thus, new hotels and restaurants are being built, as well as a complex dedicated to winemaking, while the appearance of the embankment has been completely renovated.

On July 9, Alexander Bragin, director of the Association of Travel Aggregators (ATAG), announced that the number of booked hotels in Gelendzhik could grow by 35-45% as the airport opens. He pointed out that the level of tourist interest in Gelendzhik could increase several times.

On the same day, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation announced that work on updating the airport infrastructure in Gelendzhik would be completed by the end of 2025. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, Gelendzhik airport is ready to resume receiving and dispatching aircraft from July 10, regular flights will be operated from 08:30 to 20:00 Moscow time. At the same time, ticket sales to Gelendzhik began on the Aeroflot airline's website.
